On the 17^th of January the 70.3 Iron Man triathlon was held in East London. The race consisted of a 1.9 km swim, 90km cycle and 21km. Two years ago 8 life guards expressed a desire to participate in this triathlon. With the help of beneficiaries like the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, the German government and the Manderson Hotel, this dream became a reality.

All the team members did very well with Vukile coming in as the second african athlete home. Everyone at the Manderson congratulates the Siyakhula team members on their awe inspiring performance and endurance.
